The ability to effectively collaborate favors inter- and multi-disciplinary scientific research teams and institutions.  After attracting and developing talent, a 2017 survey by R&D Magazine ranked "Building an Innovation Culture" as the number one priority for R&D Operations.  The top 3 reasons why Scientists and Engineers collaborate is for access to expertise, equipment, and facilities.  Great STEM programs are a confluence of resources, ideas and people and this presentation will outline the framework common to successfully building a culture of collaboration and innovation.  This will be a mixed session format of presentation and benchmarking as well as an open forum for students and professionals to share their experience on creating and nurture an environment conducive to collaboration.
