A Road-map To A Career In STEM: Planning the Routes, Discovering the Detours, and Locating Roadside Assistance

The path to a STEM career can be daunting, but with a roadmap in hand the route can be less intimidating. This session will focus on navigating the process of earning a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering while keeping an eye on future career goals. Knowing what training is required for specific careers, and how to obtain the experience needed is a key to success. Potential detours and roadblocks along the educational path will be addressed, and tools for finding alternate routes will be developed. Students will develop their own basic career map, and learn how to overcome potential obstacles along the way.
