In alignment with the mission of AISES, this session will aim to increase the representation of indigenous peoples in higher education through an interactive, facilitated discussion that will focus on curriculum development for high school students. In order to make higher education more accessible and familiar, this discussion will bring together educators together to discuss not only the obstacles Native students face in their academic journey, but also focus on the values and advantages that our indigenous cultures lend our youth to help reach their educational successes. From the strong sense of community to the unique holistic worldviews of our elders, our cultures should be tools that propel us towards graduation. This session will bring together people who work with indigenous students to discuss what information and resources should be spread across Indian Country to ensure our increased representation progresses.
