This session is designed to highlight the differences among cooperation, teamwork, and collaboration. Cooperation, teamwork, and collaboration are often used interchangeably. However, the differences among the terms need to be clarified. Cooperation involves a one-to-one exchange of something or quid pro quo. Teamwork involves individuals working towards a common goal such as softball players in their isolated positions trying to do their part to win the game. Collaboration is not only working together, but thinking together over a situation. This session will have interactive, hands-on, and real-time activities that demonstrate the differences among the terms. Some session activities include: 1) Participating in team-building games. 2) Writing a paragraph in response to a prompt. 3) Using blocks to build a stable structure. Participants will take away a more informed approach to structuring and participating in groups.
